Abu Dhabi Police has warned residents about fraudulent links appearing in search engine results that are designed to steal personal, banking, and financial information.
Authorities explained that cybercriminals often create fake websites that closely resemble official government, banking, shopping, or service platforms, making it difficult for users to distinguish them from legitimate sites.
The public is advised to verify website addresses carefully before entering any personal information, avoid clicking suspicious sponsored links, and access important services only through official websites or trusted mobile applications. Police also recommend enabling two-factor authentication, keeping devices updated, and reporting any suspected phishing attempts or fraudulent websites to the relevant authorities.
The warning is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and protect residents from online fraud and identity theft.
